Bengali was founded in 2011 by Erin Rush, curating her designs underneath her family company, The Importer, for 8 years. After starting a family and the pressures of a large company becoming too demanding, Erin made a change to develop Bengali underneath it's own umbrella. From wholesaling to boutiques throughout NZ, to selling product exclusively online, Bengali has newly become it's own collective in 2016.

At Bengali, we are passionate about good quality materials without the exorbitant prices. Our textiles are exclusive to the NZ market, and our volumes are small. This enables us to provide you with that special piece to add to your collection, that not everybody has.

We ensure that our overseas business encourages fair trade - only sourcing from government approved factories which support their staff in happy & healthy work environments, with respectful pay rates. We like to visit the companies that we work with to check the quality of the working conditions, and establish strong relationships.
